However, I was not currently wearing an old-fashioned suit and cloak, the traditional clothing of a vampire. Compared to that type of complicated style of dress, black, skin-tight clothing was more appropriate for my current task.

The young master had once said I was very strong, but my strength was a different type compared to his or X’s. If they were warriors, then I was an assassin.

Hey everyone! It was great seeing all the excitement for our new project, despite that many of you have already read it before. Or maybe that’s what makes it all the more exciting? In any case, the positive feedback provides great motivation! If you have already read EH before, please enjoy Ah Ye’s journey before No Hero once again, and if you haven’t read EH before, welcome aboard! It’s quite the journey. I’m also having a blast seeing the revision choices Yu Wo made in this 2nd edition. I challenge you to spot the differences. ;) (Please note that differences between our translation and Oddsquad’s can be due to both translation choices and to revisions made in the 2nd edition on Yu Wo’s part).

We begin No Hero Volume 8 this month! Two volumes to go, and tons more excitement to come. We have a side story for Illusions, Lies, Truth for you this month before we start the next volume. As stated last month, we’ll be taking a short break with GOD before starting the next volume. Look forward to GOD’s return! As for Dominion’s End… how was that cliffhanger last month?

Well, it was about time to face the problem regarding Guan Weijun. Ignoring her wasn’t the way to go. I didn’t know if the solution I had thought of would work though, and I was hesitant about carrying it out, but this was also the only way I could make it up to Guan Weijun.

With feelings of guilt, I looked down at the ice pattern on my left wrist… Hm? Has the color turned darker? Although it hadn’t returned to its original shade, it wasn’t as faint as it had been yesterday, like it was on the verge of fading.

This ever-changing shade is making me so nervous!

Afterword

The new edition has reached volume two. If you have read the old edition, you will know that they are visiting a certain kingdom next.

The progression of the plot has finally reached one of the parts that I felt was regretful. I didn’t develop this kingdom enough in the past, so I hope I can add more to their visit of this kingdom. I also want to show more of matters between a certain king and his subordinate.

I have built up Dan’s presence more in this volume and strengthened the mystery behind the Guild. I also felt I could have done better with the Guild, but I have to say that my entire depiction of the demon race was too undeveloped. The new edition will develop them more.

Of course, the elves could use more development, too.

All in all, what I regret the most about the old edition is my lack of development of each race and kingdom. I believe this is because my first series was written in first person. I kept feeling that the story must revolve around the protagonist, so whenever the main characters separated, I would very simply skim over the branching paths of the other characters.

But now that I think back on it, that wasn’t the right way to do it. Wasn’t choosing to tell this story in third person exactly because I can write about things that don’t have to do with the protagonist? Yet in the end, the story still completely revolved around the protagonist, wasting the biggest advantage of third person!
