August 2011 Chapters
  1. ½ Prince V5C6: The Bloody Overlord – Part 1
  2. The Legend of Sun Knight V2C5: “Solve a Colleague’s Problem”
  3. The Legend of Sun Knight V2C6: “Attend Various Ceremonies”
  4. ½ Prince V5C6: The Bloody Overlord – Part 2

Greetings!

First of all, thank you to everyone so far who has bought a doujin! If the North American sales go just as well, we’ll hopefully be able to convince YukiSora to print the second volume in English.

We have some more exciting news this month: YukiSora also has a 2011 & 2012 The Legend of Sun Knight calendar up for sale. She’s willing to start selling them to all of our readers, including those in North and South America. It’s a total of fourteen B5 size pages, all in full color. Here is the cover and slice samples of the pages:

These calendars are being sold for $5 USD each and there’s a shipping discount if you are ordering it with a doujin. Unfortunately, doujin orders for North America still aren’t available, but they should be within this month. You can find the order form up on the menu bar or here: http://www.princerevolution.org/orderform/

Also, for those of you who wanted to wait for more volumes to save on shipping, we have some relatively bad news. Because of the weight of the doujin and the weight classes that shipping is based on, shipping two or more doujin at one time costs pretty much the same as shipping them separately, so unfortunately shipping bulk won’t save you much. Shipping bulk does however mean that there’s less chance of anything happening to your package along the way—but we’re using registered post which means that your order is insured anyway =] Along with the fact that we can’t guarantee that there will be more volumes… We leave the decision up to you, we do recommend that you check out the prices now and see whether it will be cheaper for you to buy now or later, based on what country you are in.

As a side note to that, shipping in the United States will be cheaper in bulk; the above passage is mainly for international shipping.

Second Life Project, the 1/2 Prince video game project, has a new position opening up. Check out the information below and, if you’re interested, please apply! You can view the full application thread here.

Map Artists
A map artist is someone who puts together a fundamental part of the game: what the world actually looks like. The only requirement for this position is the ability to use photoshop. No drawing is required, merely the use of copying, pasting, and an interest in design. You will have a hundreds of images like this:

And you will use them to put together “maps” like this (click image to enlarge):

All resources will be provided for you; you just need to put things together.

To apply:

  1. Download this base map and resource images folder.
  2. Create your example map by taking images from the resources and putting them in the base map. IMPORTANT: Put up a 32 x 32 pixel grid in the .psd file while you work (if you don’t know how to do this, google how to change guides, grids, and slices). The player moves arond on 32 pixel squares, so furniture and walls must be similarly arranged so that the player can easily walk around them. For example, look at this map of an outpost with a highlighted grid and see how items are placed. You can see Prince near the entrance, to give you an idea of the size of the player in comparison.
  3. Upload the .png image file of your finished map to an image hosting site such as photobucket or imageshack.
  4. Email us at secondlifeprjct@gmail.com with the link to your example map. Please include a bit of information about how much time you have to work on the project and why you’d like to join!

If you have any questions about anything, just ask!

July 2011 Chapters

  2. The Legend of Sun Knight V2C3: “Manage the City’s Undead”
  3. ½ Prince V5C5: A Man’s Daily Trifles
  4. The Legend of Sun Knight V2C4: “Take Care of the Members of Sun Knight Platoon”

Hello everyone!

We have good news for those of you who live outside the US: YukiSora, the doujin artist, has received her copies of the doujin. She has agreed to handle the shipping for all non-US buyers, so we’re opening ordering for you! If you would like to buy copy of the doujin, head on over to this page. The final price Yuki decided on is $9 USD, plus $2-3 for shipping.

For our US readers, sorry but you’ll still have to wait one more month. The 50 copies that are being sent to us will be just for US readers though, so you don’t have to worry about us running out of stock =]

(And for any new readers, you can find more information about the doujin here.)

This month we’ve update the Fan Creations section with a couple new submissions. In the Fanfiction Gallery we have a new story from chicaalterego called Knight Apprentice’s Journal that they have dedicated to PR!, so go check it out! In the Fanart Gallery there are two new images from larka1121, Fire Pheonix and Meatbun and The Knights Meet. There’s also a preview image for Blique’s fanvideo Rainbow Love Letters. You can follow the link on that video or go ahead and watch it here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9LwQDX9AlSQ.

On that note, we’re actually working on putting up a separate Video Gallery in Fan Creations. With luck it’ll be up sometime this month, so if you have anything you’d like to submit, be on the look out for another update!

As mentioned in another post last month, we also badly need Chinese/English editors! For that reason we’re temporarily shutting down translator applications until we get caught up with editing. If you’d like to translate, feel free to apply for C/E editor and request to be moved to translating later on.

Happy reading!

We are in desperate need for more Chinese/English editors! We have a number of both HP and SK chapters that are translated, but are backed up in the editing process because we only have two official C/Es for them to go through. So if you know Chinese (and reasonably good English) and would like to help speed up our rate of release, please head on over to our recruitment page and apply!

June 2011 Chapters
  1. ½ Prince V5C3: Neurotic and DanDan
  2. The Legend of Sun Knight V2C2: “Smile, Wave, and Be the Church’s Human Billboard”

Hello again everyone! For those of you who didn’t see the New Schedule update, we’re changing our update schedule to spread the chapter updates out a bit. We will now be using the following schedule:

Week 1: Monthly Update post
Week 2: First Chapter
Week 3: Second Chapter
Week 4: Monthly Contest post

When we post 3+ chapters, we’ll spread the posting out evenly over those two middle weeks. The monthly content post will generally have information on the next month’s contest. This gives you 5 weeks notice as opposed to 4 weeks you’ve had previously.

Speaking of which, details for the June 2011 Singoff contest have been posted! Check them out here.

And finally, the doujin (details here) has been printed and the copies are being shipped. Said shipping will be taking longer than initially estimated however—we should get them in the beginning of August. More details will be posted as we get closer to that time.

Happy reading!

New Schedule and Second Life Project Update

posted in: Updates | 13

After some discussion, we’ve decided to change our normal release schedule a bit to spread things out more. From this month on, we’ll be using the following schedule:

Week 1: Monthly Update post
Week 2: First Chapter
Week 3: Second Chapter
Week 4: Monthly Contest post

When we post 3+ chapters, we’ll spread the posting out evenly over those two middle weeks. So, by this schedule, the next HP chapter will be up around the 15th!

Some of you may remember the 1/2 Prince video game project, Second Life Project, that we mentioned a while ago. If you’re new to it, you can check it out here: http://s7.zetaboards.com/SecondLifeProject/index/. We also have a number of new screenshots up, which can be found in this thread. At the moment, we are recruiting more RPGmaker VX designers, artists, composers, writers, and one new position, explained in detail below.

Currently were are looking for one person to fill an intern-like position. This position requires no background skills, but we do need someone with a lot of free time on their hands and good attention to detail. If you’re interested, please email secondlifeprjct@gmail.com with a brief description of who you are, why you’d like to help out, and how much time you have to help. No more assistant applications are being accepted. Thanks to those who applied!
