Happy New Year! Here’s to another year of translations. We may be a much smaller crowd lately, but hey, you’re still here, and we’re still here. That’s something to celebrate. ;) If you’re still here, why not make some noise? Tell us about your New Year’s resolutions~

In fact, this month, our poll is about resolutions, thanks to anon. Last month, Doll’s skeletons won the Nutcracker race! Maybe Fire Phoenix and Meat Bun clinched the deal?

Feel free to toss poll ideas at us over here! We’re loving your ideas. :D

Also, to welcome the new year, proofreader applications are open! Wow, hasn’t it been forever? We’d like some fresh recruits among us. Applications will be open for around one week, until January 9th. As a proofreader, you’ll be working on a variety of series, such as NH, DE, ILT, and GOD. We seek proofreaders who are both skilled and dedicated. Your workload depends on how much you can handle, but most importantly, you are expected to meet deadlines for your assignments and to keep in touch about your progress. We’ll be putting you right to work, so check your schedule to see if you are available.

To apply to be a proofreader, head over to our recruitment page and download the proofreader application. Most of the questions have remained the same, with a few questions changed or added at the end. Please complete the entire application to the best of your ability. We want your best! As long as you send in your application before the deadline, we will take a look and consider it. We’ll be making our final decision at the end of the application period. We’ll keep you updated!

The application period has now ended! Thanks so much for applying! If you have submitted an application, you will be hearing back from us in the next few days.

Look forward to the releases! o/

Good luck, everyone! Don’t be too intimidated. Most of the time, just go with your gut instinct on what sounds natural.

How badly is PR hurting for proofreaders? I could try if its short handed, though im not quite sure what it would entail beyond checking for typos

I’d say so so. It’s not so dire that we can’t get chapters out, but many chapters will only have one round of proofreading or one round of C/E editing when ideally we’d like to be more thorough than that (and be able to give our proofreaders a break). We also just like to have new people around, as it really livens up the place and is awesome for motivation.

Just submitted my application as proofreader. I’m also able to read and translate Chinese, though I’m not as fluent in it as I am in English.

I honestly think Shuyu has the best shot at the resolution because finding a temple shouldn’t be super hard, though actually getting better luck is another matter. Presumably Charles has a very long time to “never again” burn the food, so it’s slightly less likely.
