The restaurant in the suburbs was decorated simply and elegantly, giving it a relaxing ambiance. However, there were no servers inside, just two groups of people on either side of a table. The atmosphere was tense as a bowstring and the situation could deteriorate at any moment.
“It’s been a long time, Sun Emperor.”
Bai Lian Yue took the initiative to speak. His voice was cloying as honey. He even threw some flirtatious looks at Ri Xiang Yan. Behind him stood four modified humans, standing ramrod straight without any trace of expression on their faces.
“It really has been a long time.”
Ri Xiang Yan smiled faintly in response, then gently called out, “Yue Ya’er.”
Hearing that, Bai Lian Yue was stunned. He couldn’t help blurting out, “Ah Yan, you…”

An Te Qi slowly looked in the direction of the voice. Several faces were happily staring at him. He frowned and said in a raspy voice, “Eloise…”
“Hooray! An Te Qi-bàba called my name.”
Eloise was overjoyed. She suddenly hugged Eli and spun around in circles.

Elian sighed and explained, “It’s already been a week. Secretary Kyle has the entire Purple Moon Alliance under his control, but he can’t find Bai Lian Yue. Bai Lian Yue should have the Sun Emperor and Ah Ye.”
“Can’t find…” An Te Qi coldly said, “Are you sure it’s not ‘doesn’t want to find?’ As long as the Sun Emperor isn’t here, Kyle is the Sun Alliance’s leader. He could do anything he wanted!”
“Even if the Sun Emperor is here, doesn’t Kyle do everything already?”
That’s true! The people standing in the hospital room all nodded in agreement.
Eh? Everyone turned to look. Standing in the hospital room’s doorway was An Te Qi’s aforementioned all-purpose computer.
Kyle was dressed in a well-ironed Western-style suit with a briefcase in his left hand. He was even carrying a fruit basket for patient visits in his right hand. He walked over, put the fruit basket on a table to the side, and pulled out a laptop. As he typed on the computer, he asked, “I need to know everything you know so it will be easier to rescue the Sun Emperor and Young Master Ri Xiang Ye.”
An Te Qi coldly laughed. “Is that a good thing? Once you rescue them, you’ll be back to being the Sun Emperor’s obedient all-purpose computer. Or is it that you can’t relax, worrying that the Sun Emperor will be back one day, so you absolutely have to find him and shoot him dead yourself?”
Kyle’s expression didn’t change even slightly, even after he heard those words. He typed into the computer as he said, “Mr. An Te Qi, don’t worry. Everything you have thought of has definitely been considered by the Sun Emperor, a seasoned veteran of the business world. Since even the Sun Emperor trusts that I won’t betray him, what do you have to worry about?”
Words like those really left An Te Qi speechless. He raised his eyebrows but didn’t voice any further doubts. He began to retell what happened that day.
“I don’t know much. That day, Ah Ye suddenly appeared before me…”
“An Te Qi-bàba!”
An Te Qi was engrossed in an experiment when he suddenly heard someone calling him. That nickname and voice sound just like Ah Ye!
“Damn!” He mocked himself, “Has it been too long since I last ate? To think I heard Ah Ye calling me…”
“An Te Qi-bàba, over here!”
An Te Qi stiffened. The air vent above his head clamored. Then, a teenager dropped down from above, landing next to him.
“A-Ah Ye? Why are you here? How did you get here?”
Ri Xiang Ye giggled and said, “I came to save you! I finally found you, An Te Qi-bàba. We better hurry and go!”
Hearing that, An Te Qi was dumbstruck. He lowered his head to look but saw Ri Xiang Ye’s charred left hand. He was shocked. “How did it end up like that?”
Ri Xiang Ye waved his left hand, saying, “It couldn’t be helped. To escape, I had to sacrifice my left hand. But it’s O.K.! As long as I have An Te Qi-bàba, this injury will be fixed in no time.”
Looking at the state the hand was in, An Te Qi frowned and said, “Let me treat this for you this first. After I finish treating it, you should hurry up and leave. It’s too dangerous here.”
“An Te Qi-bàba, you’re not coming with me?” Ri Xiang Ye became distressed.
“I…” An Te Qi hesitated, but he still sighed and said, “Ah! I can’t leave this place. I betrayed you. Your brother definitely won’t forgive me. Once I leave here and he finds me, he’ll definitely kill me.”
“He won’t!” Ri Xiang Ye loudly interrupted An Te Qi. “Gēge promised me that he won’t kill Bàba!”
An Te Qi dubiously asked, “Really?”
Would the Sun Emperor really forgive someone who betrayed him?
Even Ri Xiang Ye wasn’t sure. He could only bravely say, “No matter what, I won’t let Gēge kill you!”
Seeing that, An Te Qi knew that Ri Xiang Yan truly hadn’t pardoned him. He was silent for a moment before he said, “I’ll treat you first. Then we’ll see.”
“Oh.” Ri Xiang Ye nodded and obediently extended his left hand. He thought, Even if Bàba doesn’t want to leave, I’ll just knock him out and take him with me. Then Bàba can always stay with me so Gēge can’t kill him.
An Te Qi was just about to take out his instruments to examine Ri Xiang Ye’s injury when he saw that the electronic door had begun flashing non-stop. It was the signal that someone was about to come in.
“Ah Ye! Outside…” He cried out in alarm.
But Ri Xiang Ye’s reaction speed was even faster. He had already darted away, dashing behind a cabinet off to the side.
Then Ri Xiang Yan and Bai Lian Yue had entered, intending to take his life…
“Ri Xiang Yan fired at me and Ah Ye rushed out to block the bullet. After that, Bai Lian Yue grabbed Ri Xiang Yan, then threatened Dark Sun to kill me. He really did attack. I passed out after that, so I don’t know anything!”
Even though he was lying on a bed, An Te Qi still managed to shrug. He didn’t have any expectations that Kyle would be able to find any clues from what he had said. He knew that these words weren’t the least bit useful in finding the Sun Emperor and Ah Ye.
After hearing him speak, they all fell silent.
After a while, Kyle indifferently said, “Young Master Ri Xiang Ye expertly avoided your heart. Otherwise you would have died on the spot.”
An Te Qi huffed. “You don’t have to tell me that. I’m a doctor. You think I’d hold a grudge against Ah Ye for trying to kill me? You should instead tell me about why you have control over the whole Purple Moon Alliance, yet you still can’t find two people!”
Once that was mentioned, Kyle’s voice became extremely resigned. “The Sun Emperor had already made preparations. He notified all spies within the Purple Moon Alliance and covertly discussed conditions with the Purple Moon Alliance’s family members. If Bai Lian Yue were to die, then the entire Purple Moon Alliance would not be divided up between other alliances but would remain intact, passing into the hands of Bai Lian Xing and the other family members. Like that, the Sun Emperor went to the meeting, and we gained control over the Purple Moon Alliance soon after.”
“If that’s the case, then why haven’t you saved the Sun Emperor yet?” An Te Qi asked a bit incredulously.
“It’s quite simple. Everything that has happened in this case was the result of Bai Lian Yue acting alone. He did not mention anything to other members of the family and also did not care about the fate of the Purple Moon Alliance. After you fell unconscious, he disappeared with the Sun Emperor, Young Master Ri Xiang Ye, and the four modified humans. We speculate that he used a private stealth jet to leave and did not land in any airports, so he left no traces behind.”
An Te Qi’s jaw dropped. He already knew that guy had some issues, but he hadn’t thought he was that crazy. What is he doing? Dragging the Sun Emperor to a remote island for the two of them to live together?
“He’s completely mad,” An Te Qi said wholeheartedly.
Hearing that, Kyle couldn’t help but pause typing in agreement. He inwardly sighed. Sun Emperor. Oh, Sun Emperor. Even you couldn’t predict what a madman would do.
How am I supposed to bring you and Young Master Ri Xiang Ye back safe and sound?
