Chapter 2: Apartment, Part 3—Spirit Car—translated by lucathia (proofread by Minthe)

“This chair has been influenced and has become a devil.”

Liu Yishi’s Bible shone with light falling upon the chair. The heavy, wooden chair actually began to tremble. The brighter the light became, the wilder the chair shook. A black aura seeped out but was completely ensnared by the light, unable to stretch out further. The two entities fought until the bitter end when even the Bible began to tremble minutely.

The end result was that the chair they had just said to bring back to Qing Wei Gong shattered into a pile of wooden boards. Even that wasn’t satisfactory. The Bible rushed in, light flashed several times, and the wooden boards became wooden pieces.

The three of them were speechless. It was as if the Bible had seen an archenemy. This chair couldn’t be anything but a devil.

Liu Yishi turned and asked worriedly, “Son, are you all right?”

Kill him!

Kill him! Kill him! Kill him! Kill him! Kill him! Kill him! Kill him! Kill him! Kill him! Kill him! Kill him! Kill him! Kill him! Kill him! Kill him! Kill him!

Jiang Ziya blinked open his eyes, heart beating so quickly that even his breathing sped up. For a moment, he didn’t know where he was or what he had been doing. He was surrounded by pitch blackness, the yin energy so overwhelming that he couldn’t see anything.

He tried to walk, but he couldn’t move at all, as if the thick yin energy were restraining him.

Kill him!

He can’t be allowed to leave. A lot of people will die…

There’s no way out anymore. I have to buy time for someone else to discover that there’s something wrong. Even if I die, I have to slow him down!

—Kill me!

The cold whispers drifted around him ceaselessly. At first, they started as full sentences until they became “Kill him,” and then “Kill me.” Finally, all that was left was a chorus of “kill kill kill kill kill.”

Jiang Ziya’s forehead became covered in sweat as each “kill” reached his ears. He was so irritated he could kill someone. Thankfully, he had never even really beaten anyone up before, let alone kill someone, so he was able to suppress the impulse. He tried his best to remember what he had just heard so that he could tell Lu Yang after he escaped.

As for how to do so, Jiang Ziya hadn’t made any progress. Even when sweat trickled into his eyes, all he could do was endure the prickling pain. He couldn’t move at all.

Fortunately, it didn’t take long for the yin energy around him to slowly gather together into a huge ball. Then, it took further shape. First, an arm, then a leg… Soon, it became the shadowy figure of a person sitting. The person’s figure was so extremely dark that even the light bulb hanging from the ceiling couldn’t illuminate it. The rays of light were swallowed, becoming part of the darkness.

Chapter 2: Apartment, Part 1—Blessing—translated by lucathia (proofread by Minthe & J Tao)

In the dim stairway, there was only a single light bulb, oozing yellow light and hanging above the flat landing where the stairs turned. The railings had rusted into a yellow-black, and garbage that hadn’t been swept up had accumulated in a corner. A strange, putrid smell emanated from who-knew-where.

A pale white hand reached out from around the bend, clawing at the floor. A second hand followed after it, then a head of long, tangled black hair. Finally, a woman slowly crawled down the stairs, her long white dress so dirty that it had turned gray. Her four limbs were fractured in multiple places. She stumbled as she crawled, breaking her bones even further, each cracking sound making anyone who heard shiver. At last, she fell upon the bottommost step, hand slowly reaching toward the person standing there…

Jiang Ziya couldn’t help but move aside, allowing the woman in the white dress to crawl down without obstruction. Even though she shouldn’t be able to touch him, Jiang Ziya felt that he would have nightmares for three days straight if he let such a scary thing pass through his body!

Chapter 1: The Novices Debut, Part 3—Case Two—translated by lucathia (proofread by Trespasserby & J Tao)

The moment they arrived outside the hotel entrance, Lu Yang and company froze immediately. The hotel lobby was brightly lit, and an altar had even been set up inside. A middle-aged person wearing Taoist robes was in the middle of a ritual with a luopan, a Feng Shui compass, in his hand. Beside him, there was also a disciple of middle-school age or so who was responsible for fetching tools.

Two rows of people, all wearing suits, stood behind them. These people were clearly the hotel’s staff.

Someone among the staff had also noticed the three of them. A female staff member immediately rushed out and explained, “My apologies, esteemed guests, we are carrying out a great worship service today at the hotel. We aren’t open for business.”

Who conducts worship services at night?! Jiang Ziya felt this excuse was poor, but it was clear the other person was just using a random excuse to make them go away.

Chapter 1: The Novices Debut, Part 2—Disciple—translated by lucathia (proofread by J Tao & Trespasserby)

“Jiang Ziya, over here, over here!”

As soon as Jiang Ziya parked his motorbike, he saw Lin Zhixiang run over from under a tree. He reflexively glanced at his watch to make sure he wasn’t late. It was still ten minutes to seven.

Lin Zhixiang dashed in front of him, the smile on her face so huge that it was about to split her face.

“Why haven’t you gone inside yet? It’s too hot to wait outside.”

This was Jiang Ziya’s first time seeing Lin Zhixiang in a skirt. Her hair was tied in a high ponytail. He could tell she had put careful thought into her appearance. However, sweat covered her forehead, with strands of hair plastered against her face. She looked disheveled. Fortunately, she had not put on makeup, or he’d be witnessing a mudslide!

“I’m waiting for Lu Yang. He hasn’t arrived yet.”

Is she afraid to head inside without “Slay” here to suppress her aura of misfortune? Jiang Ziya sighed to himself at the lie he had woven. We better quickly resolve the problem of Lin Zhixiang’s curse on herself. This is just too sad to watch.
